JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the Production and Operations of post-cast departments (rough finish, finishing, NDT) to ensure that the plant meets production needs, regulatory requirements, and profitability targets
Plan, budget, and develop projects that increase productivity, reduce operational costs, reduce waste, and improve product quality
Perform administrative functions, such as budgeting, reviewing, or writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, or purchasing materials or services
Oversee the performance and management of post-cast staff
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and implement organizational and departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with GM and other team members as appropriate
Responsible for ensuring post-cast production and financial goals Review forecast with Manufacturing and Engineering to make production schedule modifications as needed
Review incoming orders daily to make decisions concerning production location and schedules, work procedures, inventory requirements and staffing requirements, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints. Shares information with Manufacturing as appropriate
Assist Sales with quotes, field visits and other operational concerns
Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvements.
Maintain accuracy of inventory
Develop, or implement and maintain production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect and resolve production problems
Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to set and monitor product standards for the examination of raw materials and manufactured products to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality
Identify and provide justification for capital projects
Initiate cost saving improvements
Monitor projects and, with input from Engineering and Manufacturing, makes course corrections as appropriate
Ensure plant safety and adherence to OSHA and EPA regulations
Enforce 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards
Hire, train, evaluate and manage performance of direct reports and indirect post-cast team
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Seven to ten years manufacturing experience in increasingly responsible roles.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of the casting industry. Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, Oracle reports and PEIs as well as complex documents and reports. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Working Environment: Office environment; shop floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
Travel Requirements: 5-10%. Including customer and vendor visits.
Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
