Principal Technical Consultant, Structural Engineer (Project Management)
ERM is seeking a motivated Principal Technical Consultant, Structural Engineer to join our team in a part-time casual capacity, based in our Houston, Texas office or surrounding area, supporting work across ERM's client footprint. In this role, you will work closely with experienced Project Managers, Engineers and Scientists on the planning, design, permitting and implementation of diverse and complex engineering assignments. You will be involved in supporting multi-discipline teams working in the diversified energy, renewable energy, power, chemical, manufacturing and other industrial sectors. Projects will include evaluating the structural integrity of certain assets, overseeing the development of construction drawings, technical specifications, and preparing structural engineering evaluations. This position offers the ability to interact and network with engineering and environmental professionals throughout North America and globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate the structural integrity of certain assets, overseeing the development of construction drawings, technical specifications, and prepare structural engineering evaluations and recommendations.
- Interact with scientists in the site investigation, risk management, and planning disciplines as integrated teams as well as engineers in design and construction.
- Oversee multiple projects within client's scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables across ERM's Contaminated Site Management service line [e.g., Brownfields redevelopment, site investigation and remediation, sustainable sediments, risk assessment, environmental construction management, site closure and decommissioning].
- Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
- Direct and review field data collection, calculations, engineering reports, cost estimates, comprehensive schedules, and progress-tracking reports.
- Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Engineering. Or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 Years Experience
