Event Logistics Specialist (Finance)



The Events Logistics Specialist performs specialized administrative and operational duties to deliver student programs or services for the Marshall Student Center. The Events Logistics Specialist is responsible for the effective operation and administration of a wide variety of activities, services and programs that promote student development and enhance the USF student life experience.

The Events Logistics Specialist encompasses responsibilities such as securing equipment, supervising the opening and closing of facilities, and managing security, maintenance, and safety protocols. A key component involves supervising and developing student staff through recruitment, training, and leadership, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Specialist will also be responsible for enforcing university policies, addressing emergencies or conflicts proactively, and collaborating with event planners and operational teams to deliver high-quality, seamless events.This position requires a high school diploma and four years of related experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.Working at USF

  • Implements and evaluates special programs, projects and event activities designed to promote student development.
  • Fulfills the operational requirements of a specific program, department and/or organization.
  • Plans and implements special events for students, including set up and breakdown of equipment and facilities, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Publicizes events and programs at various USF community and/or business meetings.
  • Explains program policies and procedures to students, applying judgment to respond to individual needs and special situations appropriately, and referring problems as necessary.
  • Ensures students meet eligibility and administrative requirements for programs and services.
  • Participates in the collection, compilation and analysis of program activity data.
  • Trains and assigns work to student workers.
  • Maintains equipment inventories, checks out and monitors equipment use, and orders replacement equipment as necessary.
  • Enforce Marshall Student Center and USF policies, rules and regulations, as well as managing crises that may arise such as injuries and physical confrontations.
