Associate Director, Senior Reporter (Finance)



LevFin Insights is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Credit Markets Reporter based out of our New York City office.

About the Team

LFI provides leveraged loan and high-yield market commentary, data and analytics to customers in banking, capital markets, investment management and credit research. LFI is seeking a reporter to join a growing and dynamic team to fill out the high-yield bond beat, as well as liaise with leveraged loan, private credit and special situations reporters.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Author 5-10 stories each day on new deals and trading situations.
  • Summarize deal flow and market activity in daily report.
  • Capture market trends and deliver synopsis in weekly and monthly reports.
  • Coordinate with team for cross-asset coverage.
  • Develop statistic-based stories from proprietary data.
  • Build source list within leveraged finance community.
  • Represent LFI at industry events and via personal meetings.
  • Contribute to further growth of multi-media projects, including webinars and podcasts.

You May be a Good Fit if:
  • 2+ years of experience reporting on financial markets preferred.
  • A drive to break news in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management skill / ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency, or at least familiarity, with financial data.
  • Positive attitude towards cold-calling, source development.
  • We will consider early-career candidates who need additional training, as well as senior level candidates with years of experience and high-level expertise.

What Would Make You Stand Out:
  • Source list in leveraged finance.
  • Dexterity with spreadsheet/data analysis.
  • Knowledge of M&A and private equity transactions.
  • Knowledge of financial statements, SEC filings and legal documents.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $125,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
