We are seeking a dedicated Research Associate to join a small, collaborative team conducting NIH-funded research on the effects of stress in the context of Alzheimer's Disease. The Research Associate will be responsible for daily tasks including mouse husbandry and behavioral testing, molecular techniques such as PCR and immunohistochemistry, and performing slice electrophysiology. This position requires prior experience with animal models and laboratory procedures, as well as strong organizational skills. The associate will work closely with two other team members in a dynamic lab environment focused on uncovering the neurobiological mechanisms driving neurodegenerative disorders.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Considerable knowledge in basic and sophisticated equipment.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field with three (3) years of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
Master's degree in a related field with one (1) year of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
Doctorate degree.
Minimum Experience:
Years of experience varies based on education level.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
