Ophthalmologist or Optometrist - 1099 Contract (Project Management)



Contract/1099 Opportunity

We are looking to contract a Ophthalmologist or Optometrist with prior military experience or current Reserve status in Manhattan, KS to help provide the highest quality care to our service members.  You are experts in performing these exams.  We know you will take excellent care of the military member there for an exam all while growing your practice.

Your Role at Jamshid Tamiry, M.D., P.C., dba QTC Medical Group of Alaska:

As a contracted Ophthalmologist or Optometrist with Jamshid Tamiry, M.D., P.C., doing business as QTC Medical Group of Alaska, an affiliate of Leidos QTC Health Service, you will be responsible for performing a range of duties including:

  1. Performing comprehensive vision screenings
  2. Interpreting clinical data
  3. Completing written reports and generating independent medical opinions (IMO)
  4. Periodic Health Assessments (PHA), Pre and Post-Deployment Assessments
  5. Other physical exams (some occupational exams)

The examinations must be conducted utilizing the Kinetic Perimetry Visual Field Test Equipment Compatibility Chart.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct exams for a variety of customers to include federal, defense and others.
  • Complete independent medical opinions regarding eye conditions.
  • Perimetry requirements: Results must chart 16 meridians, 22.5 degrees apart for each eye and indicate the Goldman equivalent used.
  • Diagnostic testing.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or OD from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience as an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist.
  • Unrestricted State medical licensure without limitations to perform full scope of authorized practice
  • Completed Education and training in an US accredited college or university 
  • Ability to pass a medical clearance
  • Ability to pass a NACI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting occupational/disability medical examinations

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • Flexible Schedule: Appointments are typically scheduled approximately 5 to 7 days of notification. You set the pace and frequency!
  • Location: Manhattan, KS 
  • Compensation: Compensation will be provided for each examination, with payment determined based on the specific requirements and type of examination performed.

Additional Information:

  • Provider must complete required online training courses, up to 9 courses at approx. 12.5 hours total.
  • Leidos QTC Health Services will run a 7-year criminal history and sex offender background check.
  • Once the BGI and credentialing have been completed, the Provider will be required to obtain CPEP Certification (approx.17 hours/depending on specialty)
  • You will be given access to the Provider Liaison (PL) department; this department assists with any issues, questions, or needs you may have while contracted with Leidos QTC Health Services.
