Corrosion Field Coordinator (Finance)



JOB DESCRIPTION

Join Tallgrass as a Corrosion Field Coordinator and play a key role in protecting our pipeline assets through expert corrosion management and project execution.

- Associate degree or equivalent experience (3+ years in corrosion operations).

- Proven experience in corrosion control, project management, budgeting, and atmospheric corrosion coating remediation.

- Knowledge of pipeline operations, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.

- Proficiency in MS Office and corrosion software (CPDM, RSTRENG).

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with team members.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

- NACE and NCCER certifications.

- Experience with coating application and pipeline corrosion standards.

- Experience with field NDE evaluations

- Willingness to maintain a rigorous travel schedule

- Willingness to be on-call availability

- Willingness to be involved with coating projects (Surface Prep and Coating Applications)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform physical tasks, and work in office and field settings.

- Up to 50-75% travel with on-call availability.

- Drug screen and background check required.

  • Assisting the Corrosion Supervisors and Asset Integrity Engineers with project management, assist with project scoping, bid showings, project kick off, project oversite with tech level assistance, and project inspection, including the review and updates to O&M and capital project budgets and forecasts.
  • Work directly with Technicians and Supervisors to test and resolve cathodic protection and interference problems, as well as any system adjustments and implement corrective action through corrosion and maintenance personnel and oversees work of outside contractor.
  • Assist the corrosion technicians with the selection of corrosion monitoring systems, the design of ground beds, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Generate drawings, job scope, specifications, and contract bid documents for effective long term cathodic protection systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct jobs, suggest priority of corrosion control projects and installation of protective measures.
  • Coordinate work with regulatory, environmental, right-of-way, procurement, corrosion technicians and contracted services to complete projects.
  • Review and inspect the installation, operation, and maintenance of cathodic protection facilities, power lines, galvanic anodes, and internal corrosion control facilities.
  • Review as-built drawings, make corrections as needed and forward modified drawings to the records and GIS department for documentation of changes.
  • Maintain required records, including job books, pipeline inspection reports and annual survey data.
  • Work with Supervisors and technicians to develop and maintain atmospheric program to include prioritizing atmospheric inspections, estimating and overseeing projects with supervisor and local technician support.
  • Assist in the annual review of corrosion control program with the operations supervisors, managers, and engineers.
  • Assist field personnel with the evaluation, development, implementation, and maintenance of facility grounding systems.
  • Assist with all ECDA and ICDA inspections and Assist with all CIS, DCVG, and ACVG surveys as needed.
  • Assist corrosion technicians with A/C and D/C interference testing.
  • Coordinates and assists with the integrity ILI prove up digs, including reporting all dig information to the project manager.
  • Attend operations monthly safety meetings.
  • Coordinate and assist with OQ training and qualification.
  • Assist with the investigation of all pipeline incidents failures, corrosion related.
  • Participate in federal inspections.
  • Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.
  • Demonstrate and enforce the highest professional integrity, ethics and safety discipline.
  • Demonstrate and reinforce a culture of regulatory compliance.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
