Fund and Business Development Analyst (Finance)



Child Action, Inc. (CAI) is a private, non-profit corporation created in 1976 to promote the education and social welfare of children and families and to advocate on their behalf. Our programs include resource and referral services for families seeking child care, child care subsidies for qualifying families, recruitment and professional development of the child care workforce, and family education and support.
We are seeking individuals who are highly organized, have the ability to multi-task, provide excellent customer service, have good problem solving skills and have the ability to understand the problems and issues facing families from a variety of ethnic and economic communities.

Position Purpose & Scope:
Under the direction of the Director of Fund and Business Development, the Fund and Business
Development Analyst is responsible for supporting strategic initiatives that expand Child Action,
Inc.s impact and sustain its mission. This position is ideal for a relationship driven professional
with strong project management, communications, and research skills who is passionate about
advancing equity in early childhood care and education.
The Analyst works closely with the Director of Fund & Business Development to strengthen
grant development, drive business planning, enhance marketing and outreach strategies,
investment communications, the cultivation of strategic partnerships and sponsorships, and
supporting fundraising events and campaigns. Candidates with local ties and a deep
understanding of regional philanthropic and business landscape are especially encouraged to
apply.

Responsibilities
Strategic Research & Business Development
Assist with maintaining strong relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and
community organizations.Research potential sponsors, funding opportunities, and community partners to align
with CAIs mission.Support the development of funding proposals by researching opportunities, gathering
program information, and tracking deliverables.Maintaining up to date records in the donor/CRM database to track outreach,
commitments, and follow-up needs.Compile data for internal reports and funder updates, using both quantitative and
qualitative information.
Fundraising, Sponsorship & Communications
Assist with targeted fundraising campaigns, online giving, peer-to-peer efforts, and
event-based initiatives.Collaborate with the communications team and assist in creating compelling materials,
including sponsorship packets, donor impact reports, campaign updates, and marketing
collateral.Draft persuasive narratives and gather data to assist with the assembly of grant
proposals, investment prospectuses, and sponsorship requests.Support outreach and relationship building with corporations, foundations, and local
government to grow partnerships and funding opportunities.Assist in planning and delivering donor engagement events, investment roundtables, and
funder briefings, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Project Management & Coordination
Assist in managing timelines, deliverables, and communication across cross functional
teams on grant and investment related projects.Coordinate internal and external stakeholder meetings, including notetaking, agenda
creation, and progress tracking.Develop and maintain systems (e.g. Salesforce, SharePoint, Teams) to streamline
communication, monitor project goals, and document funder outreach.Performs other duties as assigned.
