Clinical Research Technologist II (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a Clinical Research Technologist II to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.

The Biobank and Molecular Analysis Program (BMAP) at Nemours Children's Health is seeking a full-time, Clinical Research Technologist II, to perform a primary specimen processing role in our CAP accredited program. This individual will work under supervision of BMAP leadership team, and perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by senior lab staff. The Clinical Research Technologist II will conduct routine specimen processing for both internally and externally funded projects of interest to the laboratory, including blood fractionation and specimen preservation, mononuclear cell extraction, and tissue culture. Additional responsibilities include assisting in processing clinical trial specimens, as well as assisting senior laboratory staff in the processing of core facility specimens and specialized instrumentation for molecular biology (such as nucleic acid extraction/QC and PCR) and genomic applications. Maintains both handwritten and computerized records of work performed. Assists in implementation of new laboratory protocols and processes, maintenance of lab equipment, and monitors supplies. Performs safety functions in the lab, including testing of equipment. Performs basic data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Participates in research laboratory meetings.

Essential Functions

  • Perform routine lab processes, protocols and functions independently as assigned.
  • Understand and demonstrates safe use and operation of lab equipment.
  • Understand and is knowledgeable of Nemours safety policies, procedures and ensures all lab safety requirements are met.

  • Completes annual Nemours mandatory training as assigned.
  • Perform additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by associate's supervisor.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree required
