The Manager, SAP will be responsible for providing comprehensive leadership and support for the S/4HANA SAP environment, encompassing all modules and the SAP team. Core modules include, but are not limited to, FICO (Accounts Receivable/Collections, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Procurement/Sourcing, and Project Costing), PP, MM, SD, QM, WM, EDI, Vistex, and Vertex. This role emphasizes developing, maintaining, and optimizing functional applications within SAP while ensuring the seamless operation of the core system and database. Central to this position is the ability to foster a unified support structure by effectively coordinating internal and external providers. The Manager will champion service level management, driving vendor performance to meet organizational needs while handling contract negotiations and deploying support tools with precision. Additionally, the role requires strong team management capabilities, including mentoring staff, overseeing performance, and cultivating a collaborative environment to align SAP support efforts with company objectives.What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the 24/7/365 global delivery and support of SAP to all business units, including Finance, Accounting, Operations, and other departments as required.
  • Act as a trusted partner with Information Technology leadership, stakeholders, end users, and external partners by providing strategic direction and in facilitating consensus as to the timing of solutions deployment. Lead and execute special requests, audits, projects, initiatives, and presentations for leadership as required.
  • Establish and manage Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and track performance against targets. Report on KPI's monthly for internal and external teams.
  • Work seamlessly with staff, contractors, and outsourcing providers to offer unified SAP support and top-notch service to our business and users.
  • Manage and mentor staff. Conduct full performance management cycle. Coach, guide, and manage performance of direct reports, ensuring focus on functional and company objectives meeting on/above target standards.
  • Perform all activities in compliance with internal and external requirements and standards. Manage the release and change control processes for all SAP updates, ensuring that users are trained in new features.
  • Assist in reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing IT contracts to optimize terms, ensuring competitive cost and performance. Review and approve invoices while managing to the budget. Collaborate closely with IT management and procurement teams to align contract terms with organizational goals and requirements.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent. Ensure focus and alignment with functional and company goals. Provide employees with continuous feedback and coaching using talent and performance management tools.
  • Investigate industry trends and new versions of SAP applications, providing guidance and recommendations to senior IT management.
  • Additional tasks and projects as needed.

What you'll bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent level of experience is required. Advanced master's degree preferred.
  • Total of 10+ years in progressive positions in SAP environments with experience in scoped modules, process re-engineering, SAP Systems Design, Deployment and Enhancements.
  • Five years' experience with S/4HANA
  • Five years' experience with 21 CFR Part 11 regulations
  • Minimum three full-cycle ERP implementations
  • Five+ years within a Public Company and SOX experience
  • Large scale SAP implementation experience required. Proven experience in gathering requirements from the business and relaying to the Information Technology team to design, build, implement, and enable the necessary system functionality. Integration, conversion, cutover, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Merger and acquisition experience preferred, inclusive of legal entity restructuring and system integration experience and cross-functional execution.
  • Experience with project management methodology and tools is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing relationships in a customer-facing environment; required to be service-oriented and responsive to business needs. Ability to multi-task, lead, delegate, champion collaboration, and build working relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information in an understandable way to all levels of the organization.
  • Able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels.
