Centra Credit Union has an exciting opportunity for a Relationship Consultant External located in Columbus, Indiana. This position is responsible for providing solutions and counseling for Members to create value for the Credit Union and guide Members to sound financial decisions. A Relationship Consultant is actively involved in educating and making referrals on financial solutions through products and services based upon Member needs and goals. The Relationship Consultant will provide consultation in business and consumer accounts, consumer lending including home equity and IRA's. This position contributes to the safety and security of the branch in compliance with policy and procedure.
The position has a Learning Path to develop and grow their skills. Team Members can reside in a Relationship Consultant role or pursue further development in another career path.

The minimum starting wage for this opportunity is $27.15 per hour.

This position does require the candidate to be fluent in Spanish/English.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position may be required to perform additional duties as requested. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform.

  • Engage in reaching, educating, and serving the unbanked, underbanked and under-represented communities as well as continued efforts to reach the Latino Community, various Select Employer Groups, and school systems.  
  • Present educational information to groups and individuals at internal and external venues, foster Membership, and Member engagement with Centra.  
  • Creates value by providing solutions and counseling to Members on Credit Union products and services. Counseling could include an analysis of a Member's holistic financial needs, education on financial products and services, and guidance on financial difficulties or concerns. Counseling would typically not include interceding on a Member's behalf on non-Centra products and services.
  • Applies expert knowledge and awareness of business and consumer accounts, IRA's, lending products, special titled accounts and new account procedures and policies. 
  • Performs regular Member account maintenance and telephonic outbound calling to Members and engages in Member outreach activities to build Member relationships through value added promotion of products and services and in support of the Member feedback program.
  • Consults with each Member to provide education and referrals, and partners with other lines of business.
  • Ensures own accountability for subject matter expertise in lending products and services, problem solving and financial literacy to continually grow skills required for Member consulting.
  • Creates value for Communities in partnership with the Branch Development Manager for community networking, business generation and participates in community organization programs and events. As needed, represents Centra at community events and activities.
  • Obtains Centra certification within the specified timeframe. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – (Equivalent combination of Education & Experience will be considered.)

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) 
  • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. 
  • Working hours outside of normal business hours may be required for community initiative events and financial education workshops.
