Lead Community Supervision Specialist $21/hr. (Finance)



The Lead Community Supervision Specialist provide s supervision, oversight and guidance to youth on their caseload. The level of supervision varies depending on the youth's risk assessment and other identified needs by their Probation Officer. Lead Community Supervision Specialist is a leader in their Circuit Office and will serve as a backup to Lead Senior Community Supervision Specialist as needed.

We are looking for a Lead Community Supervision Specialist who must have:

  • Associate in Human Services, Criminology, or closely related field preferred and 2 years' experience working with at risk youth or equivalent years of experience working with at risk youth.
  • At least one year of demonstrated supervisory experience. Familiarity with Juvenile Justice System and community resources preferred.
  • Must have valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enter data and reports promptly into all required database systems.
  • Notify supervisor and Probation Officer immediately in the event of a youth crisis, suspected illegal activity or any other youth or program incident.
  • Attend detention hearings in Circuit Court to complete initial contact requirements and Global Positioning System (GPS/EM) device when applicable.
  • Attend weekly Supervised Release Review Committee meetings to provide updates to Circuit Management and participate in the decisions regarding continued supervision standards for the youth assigned.
  • Review the daily alerts report.
  • Respond to violations of supervision in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Essentials:

  • Conduct face to face contacts at various locations with youth assigned.
  • Develop and maintain helping relationship emphasizing youth accountability.
  • Provide objective written documentation of the youth's compliance/non-compliance with court ordered requirements.
  • Create monthly staff schedule for assigned circuit (s) and submit to all required persons by contract specified timeframe.
  • Attends departmental and professional trainings, workshops, and conferences to ensure best practices.
