Summary - basic function of the role

As a Global Product Manager, you will lead product management for Enerpac's product portfolio. Leveraging a deep product management toolkit, the Product Manager will be responsible for the overall end-to-end product lifecycle management, including customer research/discovery, product vision and strategy, roadmap refinement, requirements gathering, development to product launch, Go-to-market strategy and business performance. He or she will have end-to-end accountability for the growth and commercial success of the the product line, functioning as a strategic business leader. He/she will also work closely with other Marketing teams, R&D, Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, and the Commercial team, influencing and collaborating to implement product strategies and to improve the business performance.

Shift: Monday - Thursday Onsite, Friday is virtual

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with functional leaders to develop and implement growth strategies to drive product profitability, volume, mix, market share improvement and price globally.
  • Going beyond the traditional focus of timetables and budgets you will use your keen insights into what customers want in their own business plan - and work across disciplines to build the best solutions for our customers' toughest challenges
  • Identify, consolidate, and transform VoC (Voice of Customer) inputs into new business opportunities, including NPD (new product development), existing product optimization, and user experience.
  • Proactively gather and interpret competitor and market information, conducting market research to identify and define emerging new product and product adjacency opportunities.
  • Use a combination of customer data, market research and industry knowledge to prioritize new opportunities into an aggressive roadmap that balances new functionality, strategic initiatives, improvements, and technical costs.
  • Define product positioning in the marketplace considering how target customer segments benefit from our products relative to competition.
  • Coordinate product launches across functions, working closely with marketing communications, engineering, sales and operations.
  • Own business success in ramp-up phase after new product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment and tracking of sales progress.
  • Develop Enerpac's competitive packages for different Industrial applications / customer segments as a playbook for sales.
  • Connect with key customers and other business partners on a senior level (e.g. suppliers of traded products) to enhance business relationships and grow our business.
  • Position may require travel up to 50% of the time to support multiple global and regional facilities.

Skills and Competencies

  • A customer-centric focus on how to deliver business value with a keen understanding of the key drivers for our industrial and/or construction customer's business
  • Strong background in Product management. Experience or high exposure to industrial products in global, B2B, construction and manufacturing markets is strongly preferred.
  • Experienced in gathering voice of customer data and insights from end users.
  • Understanding of markets, distribution channels, OEM requirements, and brand strengths
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire through influence, across a matrixed organization to drive buy-in and business results
  • Proven ability work with large enterprise customers and executives.
  • Proven ability to work with sales and sales engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to manage an effective go to market strategy
  • Sustained record of self-motivated industrial/manufacturing sales or marketing achievements.
  • Experienced in assisting the sale and promotion of products in the field.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to make recommendations and measure success.

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering, relative technical field or equivalent previous experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a (relevant) marketing, engineering and/or sales role; with strong background in Product management. Experience or high exposure to industrial products in global construction and manufacturing markets is strongly preferred; sustained record of self-motivated industrial/manufacturing sales or marketing achievements. Experienced in assisting the sale and promotion of products in the field. Experienced in gather voice of customer from end users.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, applications, and operations preferred.

Physical Demands

Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to lift demonstration tooling up to 100 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Work Environment

Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different customers where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. While visiting customers, employee may occasionally be exposed to high/low temperatures, outdoor elements (such as precipitation and wind), high levels of noise, hazardous conditions, small and/or enclosed spaces, or adverse environmental conditions.
