Position Summary:

The data collector for this job will be responsible for interviewing study participants and delivering the intervention program at day labor corners. S/he will explain the study and be trained in health intervention program delivery strategies appropriate for this population. S/he will ensure that surveys are completed accurately and the intervention program is delivered to study participants as intended. The data collector is also responsible for distributing participants' incentives and information resources.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• T he selected candidates must have experience and/or the ability to participate in a two-day training in data collection and program delivery methods

• Recruits and interviews participants, establishing rapport in order to encourage complete and accurate survey responses and completion of the intervention program.

• Maintains timely and accurate records on the progress of community outreach activities.

• Meet with research staff and outreach team on a regular basis and to discuss questions and receive updates on the progress of the study. Other administrative support activities will be required as needed.

• Provide your own cell phone (cell phone use stipend will be provided).

• Comply with all scheduled visits to day labor corners.

• Report completed work hours and travel time on a weekly basis.

Certification/Skills:

  • Trained by project manager or principal on techniques to interview, complete questionnaires, and operate equipment. May need to be bilingual.

Minimum Education:
  • High School diploma

Minimum Experience:
  • Two years related experience with emphasis on public contact.
  • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
