Assistant Professor in Marketing (Finance)



Applications are welcome from all marketing areas. Ideal candidates will target and publish in the most prestigious marketing journals (JM, JMR, JCR, MS) and demonstrate excellence in teaching with the ability to contribute at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Experience and/or interest in teaching Marketing Research and Buyer Behavior is a plus. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position.

The School of Marketing and Innovation at USF's Muma College of Business offers cutting-edge undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs across three campuses in Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management, and Advertising, including a PhD concentration in Marketing. The school's Center for Marketing and Sales Innovation manages a state-of-the-art biometric-equipped Customer Experience and Artificial Intelligence Lab and hosts one of the largest intercollegiate sales competitions in the world. The undergraduate AMA chapter has ranked as high as #4 among over 300 collegiate chapters.

  • A PhD in Business with specialization in marketing from an AACSB (or international equivalent) accredited institution or a PhD in other related disciplines before the start of employment
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, or expect to complete such a Ph.D. by summer 2026

  • Publishing record and research pipeline.
  • Evidence of ability or potential to publish in top-level journals in marketing.
  • Overall quality of the candidate as indicated by letters of reference and personal contacts.
  • Reputation of the institution granting the candidate's degree.
  • Reputation of the institution(s) where the candidate might have been employed previously.
