Sr. Financial Analyst (Finance)

SUMMARY: We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Financial Analyst who is eager to apply their skills in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for learning, and is excited to contribute to our company's transformation. This role is responsible for 1) understanding and communicating financial performance, 2) forecasting the financial performance of the business and supporting long-range planning, and 3) contributing to value-creation initiatives in partnership with the business.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sr. Analyst's contribution to the business will consist of the following:

  • Reviewing and evaluating monthly financial results and operational reports. The Sr. Analyst will learn how to communicate financials thematically, driving towards the most important elements
  • Understanding the accounting of the business, and how it drives the three financial statements, with emphasis on the P&L and the statement of cash flows. Importantly, this role will be a key partner in translating the accounting into digestible information for non-financial team members
  • Driving the internal planning process in close partnership with VP, Finance. This entails financial modeling, leading departmental reviews of performance, challenging assumptions, and keeping the related data and process well organized
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders at all levels in the organization in providing analysis to support decision-making in operational, financial, and strategic matters
  • Packaging recommendations with digestible visuals and cohesive thoughts for executive-level consumption, and assisting on special projects, such as refinancing execution and investment diligence, as warranted.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: 3 years of professional experience, with an emphasis on strategic and financial planning, analysis and special projects. Financial modeling experience is a requirement.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Candidates should also be proficient with Think-Cell and / or other PowerPoint tools. While not a required proficiency, there should be curiosity in applying artificial intelligence applications to the candidate's workstreams to increase efficiency.

COMPETENCIES: The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills for a senior audience, the ability to utilize both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. They should be able to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines. They will support the development of long-range financial plans and strategies. They must exhibit emotional intelligence in working with others, especially non-financial team members, and viewing themselves as an educator to their peers. The candidate must exhibit professional maturity. Maintaining a positive working environment and adhering to the core values must be a priority for the candidate.

JOB SCOPE: Position will report to the VP, Finance for the Crowley Fuels division, and will primarily support the Alaskan-based Fuels team. This role will also be a trusted partner to our enterprise-level finance team
