A Day in the Life
This position has the responsibility for providing direct administrative support to VP, Chief Litigation and Investigations Counsel and other attorneys and/or paralegals on the Litigation Team. The role also involves program management responsibilities for Medtronic's global litigation portfolio. The position requires a candidate who can perform complex and diverse administrative and project management duties independently. It therefore requires an experienced, organized, proactive individual who acts with considerable tact, diplomacy and judgment and is confident in his/her abilities. Excellent communication skills will be critical to success in this role, as will solid organizational and prioritization abilities.

This is a hybrid position, with an expectation of approximately three days/week in the office at Medtronic Operational Headquarters, with ability to work from home other days.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide administrative support to VP, Chief Litigation and Investigations Counsel and other Litigation attorneys and paralegals as assigned.
  • Review, open, and maintain new litigation matters in matter management system.
  • Stay on top of and timely respond to emails, texts, and phone messages
  • Interface with business clients, high-level executives, and senior management teams
  • Open and maintain matters in matter management system
  • Run reports from matter management system as requested
  • Process confidential legal settlements
  • Manage travel and expenses for attorneys, including booking travel and submitting expense reports
  • Schedule meetings/conference calls/Teams calls
  • Assist in managing attorneys' calendarsEngage with registered service agent and other external vendors
  • Prepare purchase orders as requested
  • Provide back up support to other administrative support professionals
  • Create graphic presentations using PowerPoint and other tools
  • Process invoices and check requests as needed.
  • Manage confidential information
  • All other duties as assigned

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ years of administrative experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior legal administrative support experience, ideally in litigation
  • Legal Secretarial accreditation and/or certification
  • Substantial word processing skills and advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite of programs
  • Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence tools or an eagerness and willingness to learn
  • Ability to organize/run large meetings/webinars
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in high demand situations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure of deadlines with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently, and to adapt to changing priorities

  • Self-motivated and willing to work independently when necessary
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and confidentiality

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$70,000.00 - $105,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
