Maintenance Planner/Scheduler (Maintenance)
Primary Duty
Provide services required for timely maintenance and economical repair of all plant equipment. Plans, estimates, and schedules all plant maintenance work. Identifies safety needs, staffing needs, materials and special equipment or tools to execute maintenance work. Performs all of the above in a professional manner to continually promote and plan effective utilization of workforce, materials, and machinery. As needs arise, the planner may be required to perform tasks of both planner and supervisor.
Essential Functions
Minimum Education/Experience/Physical Functions
College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Prefer engineering degree or related field. Must have three (3) or more years maintenance experience; prefer five (5) or more. Must have electrical/mechanical background with knowledge of drawings, material specifications and analytical skills.
Requires knowledge of plant maintenance operations. Must have a high standard of safety awareness, and be customer oriented, adaptable, and open and responsive to change. Must possess good organization and administration skills, communicate effectively, persuade others, and recognize the customer relationship with other departments.
Scope
Participates in the optimization process to maximize maintenance efficiency. Is familiar with all equipment, its operating function and repair needs, and maintains its records for future reference. Develops and uses standards and data for estimating planned work and compares to actual time/cost for effective utilization of resources. Reviews and recommends substitute materials and/or procedures. Performs tasks required to update prints, procedures, planning packages, and/or preventive maintenance plans. Monitors new equipment needs, modifications and support spare parts to insure reliable, productive use of equipment.
Decision-Making/Supervisory
Under limited supervision exercises independent judgment based on facts and precedents impacting immediate scope of work. Normally does not have direct reports but is the relief supervisor for a crew of up to 20 mechanical or electrical hourly maintenance employees.
