The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 93,600.00 USD - 122,850.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. We're looking for aFacilities and Maintenance Engineerto join our dynamic team at our Chicago-based manufacturing facility, affectionately known as theSouthside Soapbox (SSSB). Reporting directly to theSite Engineering Leader, this role is a key player in keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently.

As our Facilities and Maintenance Engineer, you'll:

  • Lead facility maintenance efforts, ensuring our site remains safe, efficient, and future-ready.
  • Provide hands-on technical supportto plant operations, solving problems and driving performance.
  • Advance our preventative maintenance program, helping us stay ahead of issues before they arise.
  • Champion continuous improvement, contributing innovative ideas and solutions as an individual contributor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively engage the engineering, maintenance and production teams to achieve productivity standards, provide quality enhancements and deploy cost reductions using lean manufacturing, preventative maintenance and other methodologies. Instill and drive a continuous improvement and problem-solving culture. Collaborate on team projects to solve problems and improve processes and procedures that enhance quality, safety, cost and supply assurance
  • Manage Plant Facilities by developing and executing strategies to maintain, optimize and support ongoing plant operations.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Manager to manage day-to-day needs of the plant operations.
  • Assist the Director of Engineering in building a multi-year capital strategy ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance and operation of all installed assets, including facilities, production and process equipment.
  • Own the end-to-end technical delivery of projects, including supplier identification, specifications, costing, contract negotiation and execution, scopes of work development, contractor selection, work-site management, scheduling and task-tracking and all activities related to the execution of the project
  • Assist the production team in the flawless execution of new product launches within the SSSB. Establish and document equipment centerlines, develop documentation to ensure proper setup and performance of the process and production systems and champion initiatives to improve overall performance
  • Serve as a passionate steward of the SSSB, ensuring the site is well-maintained through partnerships with outside service providers. Rapidly respond to and resolve performance issues with the building systems
  • Provide floor-level technical leadership for the manufacturing and logistics organizations, including facilities, processing and production
  • Serve as a Safety Champion for specific programs as identified.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years of Engineering/Maintenance support within a manufacturing setting
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Experience working in a manufacturing and production environment and knowledge of process equipment, liquid fill technology and packaging processes
  • LEAN manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated capability to manage capital engineering projects over $500,000
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Suite
  • PLC/HMI/Productivity Apps programming (Rockwell Automation platform) skills and broad-based knowledge of automation strategies a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organization and experience leading teams
  • Independent and strong thought leadership as well as strong "hands-on" approach.
  • Proactive approach and work ethic appropriate for a fast-paced, team-oriented, growing company
  • Sense of humor + a positive outlook with a "can-do" attitude!

  • This role is in Chicago, IL (Southside)
  • Travel approx.. 15%
  • Onsite, 5 days a week requirement
