Data Analyst Senior (Finance)



Our Department of Defense contract requires US citizenship and a favorably adjudicated DOD background investigation for this position.

Job Summary

Works on solutions of moderate to broad scope and complexity requiring analysis of data, combining of multiple data sources, and researching various system and healthcare issues. Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Provides expertise on large projects and manages small projects.

Education & Experience

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience
• U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
• Five years of experience in healthcare analysis or data management
• Experience with report design and presentation

Preferred:

• Experience with SQL development
• Experience with PowerBI
• Experience with SQL (ANSI/T-SQL)
• Experience analyzing data related to health care claims utilization
• Project management experience.
• Experience with data analysis in the following areas:
• Health Care Costs
• Operations Management
• Provider Network Development

Key Responsibilities

• Provides analyses and interpretations of complex healthcare issues, including recommendations related to a variety of healthcare management and process improvement initiatives.
• Works with management to understand and interpret the impact of decisions made by retrieving, analyzing and identifying variations and trends in healthcare data, and communicating the information obtained from analysis through charts and graphs in PowerPoint presentations for management and various committees.
• Meets with requestors to get requirements and develop solutions to fulfill various requests (reports, trends, measures, forecasts).
• Provides technical assistance to other departments in development of indicators, measures, and management reporting.
• Maintains responsibility for assigned reports, producing them accurately and in a timely manner.
• Responds to customer questions and requests in a timely manner.
• Provides analysis and interpretations of complex cost and performance issues, including recommendations related to a variety of healthcare management and process improvement issues.

• Assists lower level analysts in developing best presentation of data, developing analysis, resolving inconsistencies within data and as a technical resource.
• Maintains documentation and ensures all procedures support department and company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of healthcare coding and reimbursement such as HCPCS, CPT, DRG and Per Diem; knowledge of healthcare administration such as provider network management, medical management and claims payment; medical management and claims payment; proficiency in the use of computer systems, database applications, Microsoft Office, and structured query language (SQL, Crystal Reports etc.); communication and presentation skills.

Working Conditions

• Availability to work any shift
• Works within a standard office environment, with 5% travel
• Extensive computer work with prolonged sitting

TriWest job postings typically include a salary range, which can vary based on the specific role and location, but generally this position ranges from around $138,000 to $177,000 per year.
