Technical Sales Engineer (Sales)



Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY
This role is crucial in bridging the gap between our sales team and potential clients, providing technical expertise and demonstrations of our e-commerce SaaS solutions. As a member of the Digital team, reporting to the Director of Product Management for Home Care, the Ecommerce Sales Engineer will partner closely with the sales team throughout the sales cycle, ensuring that client requirements are understood and that our solutions are effectively presented. This individual's ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language, coupled with an understanding of e-commerce platforms and technologies, will be essential in driving successful sales outcomes. This person will also be responsible for the technical review of client contracts and will from time to time be asked to engage with the customer success team.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Support and Technical Expertise

  • Act as a technical advisor to the sales team, providing expertise on our e-commerce SaaS solutions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients, showcasing the features and benefits of our platform.
  • Respond to technical inquiries from clients and sales representatives, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and deliver customized solutions that meet client needs.
  • Understand client technical requirements and translate them into actionable plans.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical stakeholders at client organizations, including IT and Digital/Ecommerce business teams.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand client requirements and expectations.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure that projects are technically feasible.
  • From time to time engage with the Customer Success team to provide technical information for handoffs and implementation kickoffs.

Contract Review and Technical Documentation

  • Review and analyze client contracts, ensuring that technical SLAs, data governance, and other requirements are reasonable and attainable.
  • Ensure that Medline's technical interests are protected in client contracts.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, implementation guides, and FAQs.

Product Knowledge and Market Awareness

  • Maintain a deep understanding of our e-commerce platform and its capabilities.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and competitive offerings.
  • Provide feedback to product management on potential product enhancements and improvements.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Certification / Licensure

None required.

Work Experience

At least 5 -7 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Sales, Sales Support, Product Management, or a related field within a technology setting.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Proven ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and web technologies.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Ability to read and understand complex contracts.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Experience in a SaaS technology organization.

Experience in the medical or similarly high regulated industry.

Familiarity with API integrations, databases, and cloud computing.

Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).

Experience with contract review.

Experience with systems architecture, data design, and data governance.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$115,440.00 - $173,160.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
