POSITION SUMMARY
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will oversee the organizational compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position will ensure that all environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. The EHS Manager is responsible for all company safety operations concerning fire, emergency, safety, and environmental programs. This individual will promote a culture of safety across the organization but especially with our manufacturing and construction teams. Other responsibilities include assistance with the selection, use, storage, and waste stream of consumable products used in the manufacturing process and a cadence of safety and ergonomic assessments across the facility.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, including those set by OSHA and the EPA.
Conduct safety compliance and ergonomics audits.
Implement internal policies to support employee health and safety.
Follow regulatory reporting requirements.
Monitor work processes and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breaches of safety regulations.
Along with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, conduct equipment inspections to ensure they are correctly installed and operational.
Organize safety training to educate company staff on necessary safety principles.
Develop and implement safety procedures and policies for production operations.
Lead investigations to identify the root cause of an incident or other unsafe conditions.
Conduct risk assessments to identify work areas with high risk of operational hazard.
Oversee company waste disposal methods to ensure they comply with safe disposal procedures.
Review company operational processes to ensure they are in line with external safety legislation.
Manage employee safety discipline process.
Conduct regular training for factory equipment and company onboard training.
Lead monthly safety meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3+ years in occupational health and safety
Knowledge of industry regulations
Manufacturing experience in the modular manufacturing industry is a plus
Construction safety experience a plus
Detail oriented
Excellent time management skills
Ability to perform under pressure
Mentorship and leadership skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
