Position Overview
Ensure safe, efficient, and proper operation of feed conveyors, hoppers, and chutes by shoveling, sweeping, and greasing.
Location: North Bergen, NJ
Roles & Responsibilities
(Essential Duties and Functions)
- Inspect work area and complete Work Area Inspection forms and Production report daily.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Assist in repairs and maintain housekeeping.
- Wear all required PPE.
- Learn and implement OSHA standards and regulations to maintain a safe operating environment. Report any safety concerns to the Plant Manager immediately.
- May be called upon at discretion of the Plant Manager to perform any other duties assigned and to assist other departments if necessary.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required by manager.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Required Education/Experience/ Knowledge/Skill
- High School or GED.
- Successful completion of OSHA Training.
- Task training on an as needed basis.
- Basic mechanical skills needed.
- Must possess the ability to properly splice and maintain conveyor belts.
- Must be able to identify areas of containment.
- Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Able to perform all duties without a direct threat of injury to the individual or others.
- Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrates safe, productive job performance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with and work professionally with other personnel.
- Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with simple problems.
- Ability to read English or Spanish.
Preferred Education/Experience/ Knowledge/Skill
- Welding and Cutting skills.
- Knowledge of asphalt production preferred.
Compensation
- Company-paid health benefits

- Up to 4 weeks PTO, plus paid holidays
- OT after 8 hours.
- Shift differentials.
- Opportunities for advancement.
- Rates start at $24/hour, guarenteed raise Aug 1st, performance-based $4/hour raise after 90 days.
