Partner, Social Performance and Human Rights (Director Level) (Legal)

Specifically, we are looking for an established leader interested in becoming part of our thriving global team – outstanding professionals who combine strong consulting and business development skills with a strong technical foundation – to foster and expand a network of excellent client relationships across a variety of sectors.  We seek an individual to help us drive the continued growth of ERM's business through selling and delivering world-class services, recruiting and developing our next generation of leaders, and further advancing our reputation for Social Performance, Stakeholder Engagement, Geopolitical Risks & Human Rights solutions. ROLE

This role focuses on helping ERM build a more sustainable future with the world's leading organizations.  Central to this effort will be the development of meaningful relationships with client organizations, securing significant project opportunities, delivering the full spectrum of ERM's consulting services, and solving sustainability related challenges.  In so doing, this role includes:

  • Providing strong technical leadership within ERM and with our clients, including –
    • Assisting Boards and C-Suites to understand their Social Performance, Stakeholder Engagement & Human Rights risks and opportunities, defining the case for change, and setting new direction with strong and integrated strategy
    • Supporting management teams in operationalizing new strategic directions and rolling these initiatives out organization wide, including and in particular at the asset level and throughout their value chains
    • Working with asset level managers and technical leads to realize and report on effective performance improvements and issue management.  
  • Developing commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM's global strategy.
  • Providing business value by building relationships at the top levels of client organizations, raising the profile of ERM's capabilities and identifying opportunities for value addition.
  • Developing new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
  • Maintaining a pulse on industry and client news and prioritize sales efforts toward high potential, top opportunities.
  • Managing opportunity capture efforts utilizing technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, and contracting.
  • Helping ERM evolve its current Social Performance, Stakeholder Engagement & Human Rights offerings and positioning same by being active in the market, listening to clients, developing new services, and delivering high quality and impactful solutions to our clients.
  • Building, growing, and managing a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to other consultants.  This includes identifying emerging talent and working with them to reach their full potential, ensuring rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility.
  • Supporting the growth and development of ERM's Social Performance, Stakeholder Engagement & Human Rights practices and actively collaborating with colleagues across NA and around the globe.  This includes driving innovation within the practice to stay ahead of client needs and providing thought leadership to differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM's global business, as well as to lead client and project teams.  Leverage ‘all of ERM' to bring our clients integrated solutions to address their most pressing sustainability needs.
  • Meet business financial targets, overall project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction / expectations, and internal and contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post graduate qualifications (i.e., a Master's or PhD) in related disciplines, such as economic development, international relations, or similar
  • 15+ years' progressive experience in a related function or role, either in a consulting environment or working substantially within a business or institution
  • Proven track record in defining strategy, operationalizing same and driving improvements in Social Performance, Stakeholder Engagement and Human Rights, at the corporate and asset level
  • Experience working “from boots to boardroom” in a variety of sectors and settings
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and to recognize key market opportunities
  • Well-versed in the full suite of Social Performance, Stakeholder Engagement & Human Rights challenges faced by clients in a variety of sectors
  • Offer recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace.
  • Bilingualism in Spanish / English is an asset.

For the Partner, Social Performance and Human Rights (Director Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $171,000 - $183,000 (USD).  An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where employee's fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
