Program Manager 2 (Law, Admissions) (Finance)



Department: Student Services, Law Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education
Description:

Manages the day-to-day operations of a small or medium-sized university program or department. May supervise staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.

1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a small or medium-sized department or program.
2. Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence to budget.
3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
4. May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
5. Reviews reports of budgets and activities.
6. Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
7. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
8. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
9. May serve as property custodian for the department.
10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of core accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
Candidate will maintain a university P-Card and T-Card for the purpose of completing all necessary purchases to support ongoing activities.
Manages travel requests and arrangements (transportation, lodging, and other miscellaneous items) and expense reports for the Admissions staff.
Develops, tracks, and maintains the annual office budget; coordinates expenses with Business Services; research, purchases, and inventories equipment and supplies, allocates supplies within department, and manages contracts for the administrative area.
Manages special projects, coordinates, and supports departmental events, meetings, and other program/functional area meetings within department; assists with the set-up and execution of departmental activities (special events and admitted student days); serves on committees and work teams within and outside of department.

Office Scheduling:
The Program Manager must be in the office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Some evenings and weekend days will be required.

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: No experience required.
