Pay Rate: Starting at $90,000.00, plus potential management bonus

Work Schedule: Onsite. Monday through Friday, Day Shift.

Position Summary:

Fechheimer is seeking a results-driven and experienced Production Manager to lead and optimize apparel manufacturing operations at our Hodgenville, KY plant. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep expertise in garment production processes, quality control, and operator performance. The Production Manager will be instrumental in driving efficiency, minimizing costs, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring on-time delivery across sewing operations. A strong background in apparel manufacturing and relocation to the Hodgenville area is required.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will be required to...

  • Develop and execute detailed production plans to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets while ensuring alignment with quality and delivery standards.
  • Monitor daily production performance; identify and resolve bottlenecks in collaboration with department supervisors and plant leadership.
  • Analyze data from the production control system to identify off-standard costs and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce WIP, improve operator output, reduce downtime, and streamline workflow.
  • Oversee and enforce quality control measures across all stages of garment construction to meet ISO 9001 standards.
  • Hire, train, and supervise sewing operators and support staff; align labor resources with skill levels and production needs.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
  • Partner cross-functionally with design, planning, engineering, and inventory control to ensure smooth production execution.
  • Support the evaluation and integration of new apparel technologies and modular manufacturing concepts where applicable.
  • Ensure production schedules are aligned with material availability, staffing, and equipment capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and production reporting through ERP and production control platforms.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community engagement and workforce development initiatives.
  • Serve as a key communicator between front-line operations and senior management; escalate and resolve issues as needed.
  • Travel to other Fechheimer manufacturing sites as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes, including sewing techniques, garment construction, and workflow optimization.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and production floor control practices.
  • Experience working within modular manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong Experience and understanding of ERP or similar production data systems is required, familiarity with Microsoft D365 ERP is preferred.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills; ability to mentor, coach, develop, and lead production team members of all levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for engaging with the local workforce and community.
  • Exposure to Unionized manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Bilingual with both English and Spanish language skills a plus.
  • Experience developing workforce pipeline partnerships with local schools, colleges, or co-op programs is a bonus.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing management, or related field required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in apparel manufacturing operations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to other company and sub-contractor locations, as needed.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Hodgenville, KY area.
