Business Contribution:

The primary function of this position is the assembly of Machining and Aero/Industrial Products for customer orders. M ajor responsibilities of this position include assembly and testing of Aero/Industria l Torque Multipliers and Pipe Cutting Machines. The products are typically standardized to design and function, however, some custom-one off assembly builds should be expected. Other specific items may include, but not be limited to, scheduling of product flow, requesting component parts from suppliers and positively influence the Lean efforts throughout the organization.

The technician will be expected to gain competency in the processes required for the assembly and testing of both Machining and Aero/Industrial Products . This will involve working in both of the product's respective Assembly Cells.

Shift: Monday - Friday; 6 - 2:00 pm, Saturdays when production needs exist.


What you will do

      • Display strong skills in teamwork, the ability to effectively work/communicate with all team members.
      • Do cleaning, fitting, filing, tapping, reaming, blending, polishing, and aligning to ensure free action of movable parts and operating requirements.
      • Work from drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
      • Use precision measuring instruments, gauging devices and perform various quality inspection type procedures to include dimensional verification and non-destructive testing.
      • Responsible for the testing and quality of products coming out of the work cell.
      • Ability to troubleshoot, investigate and address issues with assemblies.
      • Order management duties include self-scheduling via Kanban cards or request from the Scheduler/Planner, creation of WIP order in the business system, closing of WIP order and performing inventory receiving and stocking transactions in the business system for assembled product. Receiving and closing WIP orders for component parts coming into the assembly cell from other areas of the plant. Initiate purchase part replacement by requesting order releases to suppliers via e-mail/fax Kanban and performing receiving/stocking transactions for product when received from supplier.
      • Perform other related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Certification in the areas of Assembly, Calibration-Conformance testing and Order Management is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Demands

Occasionally, Ascending, or descending ladders, stairs , moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods , moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another , a djusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions , communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers , a ssessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned ,

Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing , medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds , Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more .

Constantly, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Operating machinery and/or power tools. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned ,
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

Employee will be in a manufacturing environment where they may work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to vibration. Employee will be exposed to elevated levels of noise on the plant floor.
