Why We Need You:

PEMCO has a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our community. The Senior Graphic Designer (Multimedia) develops and executes visually engaging designs across digital and print platforms, ensuring brand consistency and reinforcing PEMCO's brand identity. This role translates complex information into impactful visuals to drive engagement and support key business initiatives, from marketing campaigns to internal communications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Playing a key role in marketing campaigns, product launches, internal training, investor relations, directly influencing lead generation, customer acquisition, employee retention and overall business growth.
  • Designing visual assets for digital and print media primarily for Lead Gen (business growth).
  • Transforming data, concepts, and narratives into engaging visuals that resonate with diverse audiences, fostering greater understanding and engagement.
  • Develop a wide range of visual content, including motion graphics, animated explainer videos, and infographics, to effectively communicate complex data and concepts across various digital and print formats.
  • Ensure all visual communication (logos, presentations, social media posts, videos, etc.) adheres to a unified style guide and reflects the brand image, supporting overall business goals like web/email marketing, e-boards, print, and social media.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (Creative Design, Marketing, Comms, Product, Social Impact, PR, HR) and external partners to understand project scope, business objectives, and develop innovative and creative design solutions, including video content.
  • Responsibly manage creative projects, design files and documentation from concept to completion, demonstrating a high degree of creativity, originality, and care for details in concept and execution (from brainstorming, to conceptual mock-ups, to final design artwork), ensuring timely delivery and high quality, including managing relationships with creative service vendors and maintaining project portfolio pace.
  • Stay current with design trends and technology, technical knowledge, competitor approaches to ensure brand expression remains relevant, consistent, and engaging for target audiences.
  • Champion innovative ideas, concepts, and design execution, convincingly presenting them to leadership within the marketing team.
  • Act as a brand advocate, consistently upholding PEMCO's values, code of ethics, and actively seeking talent to support the company's mission.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

What You'll Bring:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Design, Communications or equivalent)
  • 6 years of experience in design at an in-house creative department or design firm is required
  • Advanced literacy & writing: Demonstrates the ability to communicate, spoken and written, in increasingly diverse ways and with increasingly diverse audiences is required
  • Precision: Is detail orientated and has a strong desire for accuracy and thoroughness is required
  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is required
  • Job specific: Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design) is required, as is mastery of emerging tools – such as motion graphics, animation, interactive design, and augmented reality.
  • Communicator: The ability to communicate clearly and informatively, verbally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and the community in both technical and non-technical professional language is required
  • Organized: Has excellent time management skills and easily manages multiple tasks, activities, and projects
  • Compliance: Knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations
  • Business Environment: Has a thorough understanding of our industry, the relevant business landscape, trends in growth and insurance environments; the ability to spot early indicators of change and apply strategies to adapt quickly
  • Training and experience with AI tools preferred

Compensation:

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual's qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

  • Greater Seattle area target pay range: $102,681-$125,499.  The full pay range is $85,567-$142,612.
  • Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $90,618-$110,756.  The full pay range is $75,515-$125,858.

Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.

Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.

Benefits:

Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are:

  • covered by employer-paid basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance policies as well as long- and short-term disability benefit coverages.
  • eligible to participate in PEMCO's 401(k) plan which includes a generous employer match (2 for 1 on the first 6% employee pre-tax and/or Roth deferral, up to federal maximums). 

PEMCO provides the following paid leave programs for benefits-eligible employees in their first year of PEMCO employment:

  • Vacation accrues at a rate of 10 days for new hires and increases based on a schedule to a maximum annual accrual of 25 days based on tenure.
  • Granted four (4) personal days immediately upon hire.
  • Paid holidays for the eight (8) holidays observed by PEMCO throughout the calendar year.
  • Granted up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status), which is approximately 28 hours more per year than the Washington state-required accrual.
  • In addition, PEMCO provides paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, and employee volunteering in the community.

  • Discretionary bonuses.
