Maintenance & Reliability Manager (Engineering)



What you will do

The primary role of the maintenance manager is to provide leadership and direction to the maintenance function. You will be responsible to the Plant Manager for the effective and efficient use of all manpower, materials, parts, and other resources of Maintenance Functions for the whole facility, as well as providing capacity, asset reliability, and best life cycle cost to the operation.  

The maintenance manager is responsible for defining, implementing, and managing the systems, structure, and processes necessary to achieve and sustain the Maintenance Mission in all areas of the Plant.

How you will do it

  • Align maintenance and reliability goals with overall business objectives to enhance facility performance.
  • Manage a multimillion-dollar maintenance budget and storeroom inventory to ensure cost-effective operations and rapid response to equipment failures.
  • Lead high-quality execution of preventive and predictive maintenance through cross-functional teams and engineering support.
  • Implement performance measurement systems to optimize resource use and equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with operating departments to define and meet capacity targets, using metrics like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance efficiency and throughput using technology and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and promote strong environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Oversee workforce development, supervision, and execution of maintenance processes, including planning, scheduling, CMMS usage, and resource management.

 
What we look for

Required

  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree or similar.  
  • 7 plus years' experience in reliability engineering-related processes. 
  • Must understand Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM.
  • Must understand RCM process, Asset Management & condition monitoring principles, tools, and applications. 
  • Proficient in popular CMMS solutions like Maximo 7.6, SAP Maintenance & Prisma. 

Preferred

  • Lean-Six Sigma Black belt certification is desirable.
  • Expertise in all areas of maintenance and reliability, material management, planning and scheduling, and/or CMMS / EAM / ERP optimization is desired.

Our Toledo, Ohio fully integrated plant manufactures batteries used in automotive and marine applications. This is our largest plant at Clarios. We opened our facility in 1981 and now employ more than 700 people and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Cherry Street Mission, and Ronald McDonald House.
