CPM Scheduler (Progressive Design Build) (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our Resilience Water team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Scheduler will play a critical role in ensuring the successful planning and execution of our engineering projects by managing and coordinating project schedules, resources, and timelines.

Role accountabilities:

As a Scheduler supporting stormwater / coastal resilience, water, and wastewater projects, you will be responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining detailed project schedules to drive the successful execution of the designs for critical infrastructure projects. Utilizing industry-standard scheduling software, you will ensure that project timelines are accurately planned, monitored, and adjusted as necessary to achieve on-time delivery. Your role will play a vital part in coordinating efforts across multidisciplinary design teams, optimizing resources, and supporting the overall efficiency and success of water and wastewater initiatives.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Develop and Maintain Project Schedules: Create, update, and manage detailed project schedules using industry-standard software to ensure timely completion of water and wastewater projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Teams: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather essential information for schedule development and track project progress.
  • Resource Allocation: Assist in identifying and allocating resources effectively to meet project deadlines and optimize project performance.
  • Monitor Project Progress: Track and report on the progress of projects, adjusting schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in project scope, resources, or timelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and work with the project team to develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on project delivery.
  • Communication: Facilitate regular communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed about schedule changes and project timelines.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related experience
  • 10 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project scheduling, preferably within the stormwater / coastal resilience, water, and wastewater sector, and demonstrate proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools. Experience in alternative delivery, particularly progressive design build, is critical. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with exceptional attention to detail, are essential for success in this role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Additionally, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is key, and knowledge of water and wastewater project processes is a plus.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $132,000/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
