As a transportation driver, you will be ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments, outings, and other approved activities. This includes assisting residents with loading and unloading facility vehicles, maintaining vehicle safety, and ensuring a positive community image.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with safely entering and exiting facility-approved vehicles.
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and other activities.
- Maintain the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to ensure safety and comfort.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance logs and coordinate regular service (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be flexible with work hours in case of late-running appointments or activities.
- Demonstrate and maintain competency in clinical-based transfer techniques, including:
- Assisting mobile residents into and out of vans.
- Transferring residents into and out of wheelchairs.
- Properly securing wheelchair-bound residents in vehicles.
- Must be able to lift, transfer, and mobilize patients weighing up to 70 pounds in confined spaces.
- Make quick, sound decisions involving a highly dependent resident base.
Qualifications & Requirements
We're looking for dependable, compassionate professionals who are committed to providing excellent care and service. To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 25 years old
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required and in good standing, with current CE requirements met
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Familiar with GPS navigation and the local area
Driving & Safety Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Driver's License
- Clean driving record:
- No traffic crimes in the last 7 years (e.g., DUI, Reckless Driving, Driving While Suspended, etc.)
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
- No more than 1 accident in the last 3 years
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills — able to read, write, and follow job-related instructions
- Comfortable interacting with residents, coworkers, and supervisors
- Basic math skills (working with fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.)
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow written or verbal instructions
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift or move up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, and hear throughout the day

- Work setting is typically quiet to moderately noisy
