Technical Sales Engineer - Power Systems (Sales)

The Technical Sales Engineer supports the engine sales objectives of Wagner Power Systems through coordination of sales and production activities in a manner that reflects the company's vision of working as “One Professional Team.” This will include mechanical and electrical engineering design and analysis, project management technical assistance, power system pricing. This position will work with outside Engineering firms on project design.

Pay Rate: $30,000 - $65,000 + commission

Pay is based upon education and experience

Location: Aurora, CO

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews submittals for the customer's approval prior to manufacturing releases on components and production.
  • Reviews on-going production progress, on a segment by segment basis, for accuracy and quality as per the production work order and customer's requirements.
  • Creates test procedures and reports in accordance with Wagner's standards and the customer's specifications.
  • Advises Service Department of project start-up requirements, if required.
  • Coordinates with the customer and inspectors on the testing and shipment of the equipment.
  • Supports electrical and mechanical design and analysis requirements.
  • Assists with necessary equipment drawings for submittals and production as required by the specification requirements.
  • Reviews on-going production progress, on a segment by segment basis, for accuracy and quality as per the production work order and customer's requirements.
  • Ensures that the services of the equipment-demo operators or test equipment are appropriately applied so customers can operate equipment safely and productively use the equipment.
  • Assists outside engineering firms with equipment and project design for new sales.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Engineering background, either scholastically or experientially
  • College Degree Preferred: Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years in an engineering position
  • 3+ years administrative/clerical experience

Physical Demands & Competencies:

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing but may require occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 45 pounds
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Strong technical and customer service skills
  • Ability to go beyond normal channels, if necessary, to resolve issues to meet customer demand requirements
  • Professional phone skills
  • Ability to travel when needed, up to 25% of the time

Work Environment:

  • Noise: Quiet
  • Indoors and outdoors
