Senior Scientist (Finance)



Description

Qualis LLC is seeking a Senior Scientist to provide support our government customer in Dugway, UT. The selected candidate will develop and coordinate technical documentation for scientific defense testing to meet stringent government quality standards on tight deadlines. The scientist works closely with the government technical point of contact to review and edit technology requirements as part of command-directed data calls.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides ability to compose, review, edit, revise and correct requirements, descriptions, justifications, impacts (if not funded), execution plans, cost estimates and requirements data call response documents.
  • Prepares related memoranda for Record, Power Point presentations, Excel spreadsheets, E-mail correspondence, white papers, etc.
  • Prepares technical studies and peer reviews on technology capabilities or test requirements related topics. This involves researching and documenting requirements, existing capabilities, analysis of alternatives, return on investment, urgency of need, etc.
  • Uses Microsoft Office applications to present data, create graphics, and create documents. Frequently troubleshoots common (and uncommon) issues in MS Word documents.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of BS in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related science fields, PhD preferred
  • Technical writing skills. Ability to organize and convey technical concepts. Ability to work well with engineers, scientists, and military personnel.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and to concentrate and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to provide and receive critical feedback diplomatically.
  • Fast learner, knowledge on testing, infrastructure, equipment, etc.
  • Experience with database management and handling data files in excel, word, etc. preferred.
  • Experience communicating complex information to varied audiences from non-scientific backgrounds or experience levels.
  • Experience with technical writing, especially with technology or infrastructure requirements as they relate to the sciences.
  • Ability to attend and present information and data to senior leadership.
  • Ability to work independent and be self-starting.
  • Ability to rotate quickly between tasks with competing priorities or with similar deadlines.
  • Ability to manage varying personality types and maintain customer service first approach to interactions.
  • Must have a valid Utah driver's license and be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A PhD is preferred.
  • Experience in chemical/biological test and evaluation of defense equipment.
  • Experience with database management.
  • An active Secret clearance.
