Surgical Tech (Healthcare)

Ensures the proper functioning of equipment prior to use
Assists, as needed, with transporting patient to and from the operating room
Understands standard concepts, practices and procedures within the surgical technologist field (i.e. setting-up and maintaining a sterile field)
Anticipates and responds to surgical requirements for all procedures
Aids in the safe transfer of the patient from the Operating table to the recovery gurney.
Follows OSHA guidelines when handling blood or bodily fluids
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
Strictly maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
