Concrete/Pipe Foreman (Construction)

The Concrete/Pipe Foreman is responsible for supervising crews and overseeing the installation of concrete structures and underground utilities to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications.

This role is classified as safety sensitive.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
  • Work Area Preparation: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work zone; ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and materials are properly staged and ready for use.
  • Form Inspection: Inspect concrete forms and trench boxes to verify they are constructed accurately and securely, meeting all project and safety specifications.
  • Form Setting: Accurately place and align forms for concrete structures and trenches, ensuring correct pitch, depth, elevation, and layout for pours and pipe installation.
  • Concrete Placement and Finishing: Spread, level, and smooth concrete using tools such as rakes, shovels, screeds, hand or power trowels, ensuring proper finish and compaction.
  • Support Pipe Installation: Assist with trench preparation, bedding material placement, and pipe laying for storm, sewer, or water systems as directed by the foreman.

 

Required Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • Travel to and from job sites
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills which assist with working closely with co-workers
  • Ability to listen to, understand and follow directions so safety is maintained.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements
  • Functions essential to this position include but are not limited to standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking and lifting heavy objects (50 pounds) during the course of the work day
