Graduate Student Research Assistant| Department of Criminal Justice and Social Work (Finance)



Department: Criminal Justice Salary: $21.00 per hour
Description:

Graduate Assistants in the Department of Criminal Justice and Social Work assist faculty with research projects, administrative tasks, and/or undergraduate courses. The position is ideal for those wishing to gain research and/or teaching experience in preparation for a PhD program or future adjunct faculty position. Students in this position are paid $5000 per semester for 15 hours of work per week.

Applicants are required to submit both an application and a current resume. Appointments to graduate assistantships are made by the director of the MSCJ program, based on recommended candidates selected by the MSCJ admissions committee after a thorough review of all applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must commit to working 15 hours per week during both the fall and spring semesters
  • Must have strong writing and research skills

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a current UHD graduate student
  • Must be admitted to the MSCJ degree program

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Grade of B or higher in social science research methods and statistics courses (undergrad or grad-level)
