Director, Clinical Execution & Operations - Cigna Healthcare - Hybrid (Finance)



Job Summary
TheDirector, Clinical Execution & Operationsis a key operational leader responsible for translating clinical strategies into scalable, high-impact programs acrossCigna Healthcare (CHC). This role is pivotal in ensuring that clinical priorities are operationalized with clarity, accountability, and ultimately, measurable results that improve member care. This role oversees a team of 15-20 FTEs, including 4 direct reports, and is accountable for driving operational excellence and cross-functional coordination across clinical initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in healthcare operations, people leadership, and executional rigor. This role reports to the Managing Director, Clinical Strategy and Operations.
Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Oversee CHC clinical programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and performance expectations.
  • Manage a team of 15-20 FTEs, including 4 direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional development.
  • Partner with senior clinical and business leaders to shape execution plans, resolve barriers, and ensure visibility and alignment at the executive level.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes, tools, and governance models to support clinical program delivery and performance tracking.
  • Ensure timely and effective execution of CHC clinical initiatives, overseeing resource planning, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Partner with CHC clinical teams, including strategy, medical management, provider network, data and analytics, and product teams to ensure continuity and management of clinical programs and priorities.
  • Serve as the operational liaison between strategic planning and frontline implementation teams within CHC and across the enterprise.
  • Support readiness and enablement efforts for new clinical programs and services, establishing escalation and acute-resolution pathways as needed.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, executional excellence, and professional growth within CHC and across the enterprise.
Performance Management & Reporting
  • Establish a reporting and oversight strategy for all CHC clinical programs, leveraging KPIs and dashboards to monitor program performance, operational efficiency, and clinical impact.
  • Manage all data and reporting needs for CHC clinical, partnering with technology and data and analytics colleagues across the enterprise.
  • Create clear and supportive accountability structures across program execution.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts based on performance insights, stakeholder feedback, and evolving business needs.
  • Oversee executive-level updates and reporting for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare operations, clinical program management, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives from strategy through execution in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Expertise with performance measurement, operational dashboards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in payer, provider, or integrated delivery system environments.
  • Familiarity with clinical care models, value-based care, and population health strategies.
  • Exposure to digital health tools and operational enablement platforms.
