About the Role:

Now Boarding: Auditor II - Join Our Flight Crew to Safer Skies!

Are you ready to take flight in your auditing career? Do you have a pilot's precision and a navigator's insight? The Authority is looking for a talented Auditor II to join our team and help us maintain a clear flight path towards our objectives!

As an Auditor II, you'll serve as our internal co-pilot—helping navigate turbulence, anticipate storms, and ensure we stay on the most efficient and secure flight path. You'll use a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of our internal controls, risk management, and governance systems. As part of the cockpit team you'll be monitoring instruments, scanning for risks, and ensuring compliance with the flight plan.

Your Flight Plan Includes:

  • Conducting evaluations of third-party agreements, internal business processes, and critical control systems.
  • Identifying potential risk areas and recommending strategies to reduce turbulence and maintain operational altitude.
  • Working under general supervision to ensure the Authority's safety and governance systems remain in topflight condition.

Compensation:

  • Maximum – Based on experience
  • Minimum - $63,133.20

What You'll Do:

  • Performs evaluations of contract compliance in relation to third-party entities that have contractual obligations to the Authority.
  • Performs process, risk, and control evaluations of various functionalities of the Authority.
  • Prepares and completes scheduled audits including planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up in accordance with audit policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluates established and proposed control systems to ensure compliance with best practices, management policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with tenants, departmental staff and management.

What You Need:

Education:

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field

Preferred

Master's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field

 

Experience:

Required:

  • 1 year audit experience

Preferred: 

  • 3 years of audit experience

Licenses or Certifications:

Preferred:

  • Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or relevant equivalent certification

Typical Work Hours:

  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday with flexible scheduling options

 Location:

  • On-site RDU Airport Campus
