An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Advance R&D Engineer/Scientist in the Modeling Development group within UOP's Research and Development organization located in Des Plaines, IL.

You will report directly to our R&D Manager, you'll work out of our Des Plaines, IL location on a Hybrid work schedule.

This position affords a unique and visible opportunity to develop reactor and process models which are critical to the development of sustainable process technologies from their inception in R&D through the commercialization stage. You will be part of a team that supports the development and commercialization of new technologies like sustainable aviation fuel production from renewable feedstocks, crude to petrochemicals, battery energy storage, blue hydrogen, green hydrogen, and waste plastics recycling.

The ability to travel both domestically and internationally, approximately 10% annually.

The annual base salary range for this position is $114,000-$170,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

You will report directly to our R&D Manager, you'll work out of our Des Plaines, IL location on a Hybrid work schedule.YOU MUST HAVE

  • 6+ years of experience leading research and development projects within a technology or manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ year experience in areas such as materials science, electronics, sensors, controls, or related fields.
  • 1+ year experience in technical leadership and project management.
  • Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, or another related field.

WE VALUE
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering with 2+ years' industrial experience in modeling, process simulation, process development or reaction engineering
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technology commercialization is a plus.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
