Operations Technician (Biotech)

Lonza Salisbury is actively seeking an operations Technician who will perform procedures involved in pyrogen-free tube processing area, the horse shoe crab bleeding area, and the horseshoe crab blood processing laboratory. Additionally, will complete work as assigned by the Facility Manager or as directed by the lead technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development and follow through on production schedules.

  • Monitor supply inventories and production shipments.

  • Perform aseptic production techniques.

  • Aseptically bleed horseshoe crabs according to SOPs and complete necessary documentation.

  • Assist in the production of pyrogen free tubes according to SOPs.

  • Assist in the Processing Room, carrying out all required procedures as outlined in the SOPs.

  • Complete all required documentation with accuracy.

  • Assist in the cleaning and preparation of glassware. Run ovens to de-pyrogenate glassware.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or equivalent is desirable; AA in Biological Sciences with working experience in a production environment or HS and significant experience working in a production environment.

  • Able to follow written procedures and carry out those procedures to completeness.

  • Organization skills, time management skills, regular attendance.

  • Interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, team oriented, able to work independently.

  • Able to multi-task

  • Team work - willing to work closely with others to meet departmental objectives.

  • Math and computer skills.

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities; while also allowing for differentiation on performance based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at the company between the lower and the middle part of the applicable range. We tailor our offers within the range based on job-related factors, including organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic area and the selected candidate's experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and/or communication skills and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. This range is only inclusive of base salary, and base pay is just one component of Lonza's total compensation package for employees.
