Cherry Picker Operator / Operations Associate Seasonal (Finance)



Overview

We are seeking a full-time Cherry Picker Operator / Operations Associate Seasonal in our Miramar, FL location. In this role, you will be responsible for working in either the Distribution Center, loading, unloading and moving material or the Manufacturing Center, assembling electronic components while following procedures as assigned.

Essential Functions

Warehouse - Material Handler:

  • Operate a cherry picker
  • Demonstrate safe equipment practices
  • Load, unload, and move material
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory, transactions, and material movement
  • Receive, transact and sort material
  • Follow Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines for static sensitive materials
  • Pack materials to ensure adequately delivery to internal/external customers
  • Able to operate RF device to transact and move material
  • Able to safely/efficiently operate one or two pieces of powered industrial equipment (ex. dock stocker or powered pallet jack) depending on departmental responsibilities
All Operations Associates:
  • Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift and walking long distances throughout the facility.
  • Must possess a high degree of dexterity and eye coordination, to allow manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate equipment, products and parts, in the performance of essential functions
  • This position will require the ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist and have dexterity with hands
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment
  • Must meet quality and productivity metrics
  • Ability to accept responsibility for work assignments and job duties and to be held accountable for their successful completion
  • Comply with all safety standards/policies and all corporate/department procedures
  • Olathe associates only: Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin's Attendance Policy)
  • Cross-train, as needed to learn all material handler functions
  • Cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift and walking long distances throughout the facility
  • Must possess a high degree of dexterity and eye coordination, to allow manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate equipment, products and parts, in the performance of essential functions
  • This position will require the ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist and have dexterity with hands
  • Strong experience and aptitude with computers
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous related experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
