Meat Prep Operator (3rd Shift)

Pay: Starting at $26/HR

  • Pedigree, Cesar, Nutro, Royal Canin, Iams, Whiskas, Sheba pet food and Greenies and temptations treats.

What is the Required Shift?

3rd Shift: Monday- Friday 11pm- 7:30am

Job Purpose:

The Meat Prep Operator (Night Shift) is responsible for supplying frozen meat to the factory via forklift in a timely manner while following safety protocols and production needs.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirement:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements :

  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.).
  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot, cold, wet, dust, dirt and chemicals.
  • Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping
  • Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to read, write and understand English

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Forklift experience
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Computer / IPad literate
  • RF Scanner/Blue Yonder/JDA experience

What will be my Responsibilities?

  • Responsible for keeping the area operating. This area consists of the Haarslev, meat screws, grinders and bunkers.
  • Change the grinder blades/hole plates as necessary.
  • Follow safety/LOTO procedures
  • Process meat based on the recipe needs using the order screen.
  • Operate and drive forklifts used to transfer meat (will train)
  • Assist in system start-ups.
  • Train associates new to the area on how to navigate blue yonder
  • Assist product changeovers on a primary piece of equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with the team to prevent downtime and quality issues.
  • Assist in operating equipment for breaks and lunches or as needed.
  • Comply with Mars Petcare Quality and Food Safety Practices, GMPs, and other Food Safety and Regulatory Standards to ensure we manufacture a quality product.
  • Document quality attributes and provides production data for shift reports on a computer or IPad.
  • This position and all site associates are responsible for quality and food safety.
