POSITION SUMMARY

The Design Engineer brings value to the organization by supporting factory production and designing efficient and compliant designs to meet clients needs. This role works closely with other designers, drafters and production staff to ensure that product plans are created and translated efficiently and accurately to our manufacturing processes and procedures.


RESPONSIBILITIES
? Support the needs of production, engineering, safety, purchasing and/or maintenance and take on special projects when assigned.
? Perform engineering design on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
? Create, update and maintain engineering drawings and incorporate redlines and field markups into models and drawings.
? Review and synthesize technical documentation, product specifications, and design requirements
? Refer to applicable Building Code documentation to ensure design compliance (IBC, IRC, IECC, IPC, IMC, NEC, etc.)
? Demonstrate a basic understanding of accurate drafting methods, layering, X-References, dimensioning, model space/paper space, viewports and scaling.
? Ability to extract 2D and Isometric shop drawings from Revit file.
? Create comprehensive shop drawings from Revit files, plan sets and specifications.
? Work with the shop floor and other Revit Drafting Staff and Lead engineers to continuously improve the quality of shop drawings and the factory-built modular process.
? Maintain Revision Control on shop drawing documents.
? Export data from Revit files to create CAM files for factory equipment.
? Import different trade files and perform collision control services.
? Determine production needs and work with other supporting staff to implement changes and improvements.
? Document processes and procedures or drawings where needed.
? Assist with training and cross training individuals. Reduce waste and address production issues to keep the installation line running smoothly.
? Evaluate data to implement improvements in production and supporting processes.
? Support daily operations of the modular home factory.
? Other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS
? Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
? Minimum one year AutoCAD or REVIT experience
? Experience in other, similar 3D Modeling and Drafting Software such as SolidWorks or ProEngineer will be considered; however, Fading West uses Revit and this position will require proficiency in Revit to perform the job responsibilities.
